There are forces for good. Forces for evil.

Then, there is Cameron ‘The Force’ Cobain. A tattooed MMA fighting machine with two felonies, a filthy mouth and one violent obsession.

He’s drop-your-panties, dead sexy with a body like a monolith and eyes the color of shattered blue ice.

Raised in a world where you are either the victor or the vanquished, he was trained to be lethal. I know, because I was there.

Since the days of pig-tails and skinned knees, I’ve counted on him, loved him and hated him. Because some mistakes cannot be forgiven.

Now, he's gone. I'm alone. The wolves are coming and my own father is pointing them my way.

When Cameron comes back, he’s after more than blood. He’s after me.

Why? I’m not the platinum blond, ring card girl. I’m the good girl. The straight A, keep-your-head-down-so-no-one-will-notice-me girl.

I’ve felt his force and I’m being swept away. Can our two broken halves come together to make us whole? Or, will we find out, in some fights, no one wins.

Author Note If you want a possessive, borderline psycho, alpha with eyes only for his girl. A happily ever after and naughty bits sure to light up any fourth of July, then step inside, it's steamy. This is a stand alone novel with a an ultra dominant alpha male, NO CHEATING, a HEA and content that may require one handed holding.

3.5 Stars

Cameron is a tattooed MMA fighter with a horrible temper which has gotten him into trouble a number of times throughout the years. He's dad has always been hard on him and nothing he did made him proud. With his family owning a gym, fighting is all he's ever known.

When Cameron was younger, his father surprised everyone by marrying his best friend's ex-wife. Her daughter Victoria pretty much stole his heart at the age of six. Over the years, Cameron has watched after and protected Victoria. No boy got near her without going through him and those left in bad shape. Cameron eventually left town because it hurt too much to be around her and not own her. After six months, he decides it's time and goes back to claim what's his. It doesn't matter that she's his step-sister, she's just his. When he gets home, he learns that his father and business partner (Victoria's dad) owe money to the wrong person and have involved Victoria. He also discovers he might have some competition where Victoria is concerned and plans on proving to her that she's his life.

I liked this story well enough. It got a little long winded at times and is a fairly long book. Cameron loved Victoria almost to the point of obsession. He would never hurt her, but he made it clear it was his way or no way. Victoria was a little naive and didn't have a clear understanding of what her father and Cameron's dad were getting her in to. Although Cameron could be pushy and a jerk, he expressed his concerns for her safety pretty clearly. It was obvious that she was the most important thing in his life.

The story is told from both Cameron's and Victoria's POVs which would sometimes switch in the middle of a chapter. It was confusing at times but I caught on eventually. It is a standalone and does have a happy ending.

FORCE Southside Brotherhood MMA Book 1 eBook Dani Wyatt Reviews

Truly enjoyed this novel. I read so much that I get bored fast after reading the same/similar story line all the time. After awhile all of the love scenes seem the same and blend in with each other leaving you rushing just to be over with the book already. The worst feeling is picking up a book that is boring, and having to force yourself to finish it. This book started off like one of those books, more or so because it was just a bit confusing on what was happening at the beginning. I am so happy that I stuck with it because it bloomed into a really good story line. The author for sure stole the show with the main character. You read so many alpha story lines.. they also start to blur into one and the character then begins to feel watered down. Cameron was intense on steroids! His intensity is what captivated me to the story.. his story. The sex scenes were like no other, because of how intense she made his character, nothing seemed "off limits" when it came to the steaminess of the scenes. There were many parts within the novel where I wish she would have provided more detail or given more background when it came to characters that were mentioned, but all in all the story left me wanting more. Which in my mind is the true testament to a good read.
Ok, so here is my opinion of this book. Cameron was most definitely an alpha male. He took charge of everything Victoria did. I have to say though, he was too alpha male. In some instances in the book it reminds me of the stories people hear about when the husband/boyfriend is abusive. Although, Victoria enjoyed every minute of it from beginning to end of the book.
The book had a few grammar mistakes in it. Nothing to bad that would really jump out at you. So I have to say, if you like reading about hard core alpha males, then I recommend this book.
Cameron and Asher lost their mother at an early age. Their father, Larry, marries Victoria’s mother, Emily, after she leaves her father, Roger – Larry’s business partner. When Emily dies a few years later, both of their fathers shut down and leave them to raise themselves.

After may years Cameron leaves to find out if his love for Victoria is real, leaving their families to survive without him.

It took a bit to get into this book but once I did I couldn’t put it down. It’s a really good read.
First, the positives

- Great plot. The storyline is very "real" - not the typical billionaire man meets down on her luck girl and they live HEA. The main characters are lower income people, who come from a very difficult past. They're making due with they path they've been given, especially the main female character.

- While the main female and male characters are a bit one-dimensional and predictable, the author does provide a lot of good details into their personalities.

Now to the negatives.

- POOR WRITING. I don't mean to belittle the talents of the author, but this story was very poorly written. Typically, I can read through a mature novel in just a few days, but this book took nearly two weeks to finish. I simply had to take breaks from reading, because the writing would become very aggravating. The biggest offense, the overuse of metaphors! I'm all for a good metaphor, especially when describing a particularly intimate moment or the attraction between the main characters. But a paragraph comprised of nothing more than metaphors is overkill. There are only so many times you want to read a metaphor for the male anatomy before it becomes redundant and annoying.

- The story was also very, very choppy in the sense that there would be times the characters would revert to a past experience, but the author wouldn't given you any indication of it.

Finally, the story is FULL of curse words and abusive language. This wasn't necessarily a negative to me, but others who prefer a "cleaner" vocabulary should definitely be aware of it.
